Portal to Connection
Iris is the Greek goddess of the rainbow - represented either as a rainbow or as a beautiful young woman with wings on her shoulders. Iris is associated with communication, messages, the rainbow, and new endeavors. As a personification of a rainbow, she is a link to the heavens and earth. She is also known as one of the goddesses of the sea and the sky. Iris links the gods to humanity. She travels with the speed of wind from one end of the world to the other & into the depths of the sea and the underworld.
Iris flowers - named for the rainbow goddess - often symbolize hope and passion, while windows are viewed as a way to see new ways, invite change, or as a portal. For me, the art nouveau style taps into a sense of romance and nostalgia and longing for connection to the flora and fauna of the natural world.
We’re all seeking connection every day - to each other, to ourselves, to nature. Let this window guide you to new and deeper ways to connect.
With all this being said, I hope you love this work as much as I do.
